Hundreds of people are expected to compete in a unique seasonal event in Ennis, County Clare this afternoon - the annual Irish Christmas Tree-Throwing Championships.
Members of the public will seek to beat the current Irish record of flinging a tree 10.2m. The world record is 12m.
This year's championships are in aid of Childline, run by the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
