The trial of a former solicitor accused of stealing over €30m is due to get underway today.
Michael Lynn, of Millbrook Court, Red Cross, County Wicklow, is facing 21 charges of theft.
The 51-year-old is accused of stealing €30m from various financial institutions between October 2006 and June 2007.
The 51-year-old’s trial is expected to take somewhere between ten and fourteen weeks so a specially enlarged jury will be needed to hear it.
Ordinarily, a criminal trial before Dublin Circuit Criminal Court would only require twelve jurors but due to the expected length of this case, an additional three jurors will be sworn in today.
The jury selection process is due to get underway later this morning.
