An Irish celebrity who is accused of the defilement of a child more than a decade ago has had an application to dismiss the case against him refused.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will stand trial in October.
He faces three counts of engaging in a sexual act with a child under the age of 17 in 2010 and 2011.
He applied to have the case against him dismissed, and the hearing for that application took place before Judge John Martin at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
Judge Martin said in his judgement that for a case to be dismissed, the defence would have to prove insufficient evidence.
He was not satisfied this was the case in this instance and ruled against the man.
He was remanded on continuing bail until the start of his trial in October.
