The Irish boy who died in Lanzarote yesterday has been named locally as 15-year-old Mikey Leddy.
The Navan teenager died in hospital after falling from a wall in the early hours of Monday morning.
It happened in the town of Puerto del Carmen, where he was staying with family.
Navan councillor Padraig Fitzsimons has described him as a lovely guy who will be missed by all his friends and family.
“Everybody is really devastated,” he said.
“Mikey was a really lovely young fella; he played football with Navan O’Mahonys and with my own son and with Johnstown Football Club.
“He was a lovely lad, an excellent, excellent footballer and just a nice guy.
“The whole community is devastated and the outpouring of grief from all round is really heartfelt.”
Navan O’Mahonys GAA Club said its “thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the Leddy family and Mikey's many friends and teammates.”
Navan O'Mahony's wish to express our profound sadness and shock at the tragic passing of Mikey Leddy. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the Leddy family and Mikey's many friends and teammates.
Funeral arrangements later.

Cllr Fitzsimons said the town will rally in support of Mikey’s parents Damien and Aisling.
“It is every parent’s nightmare,” he said. “We will just pray for them and hope they are OK.
“I know there are people gone out to be with them and hopefully, they will give them some solace but the community is really hit hard here.
“It is really hard on them and our hearts just go out to them. It is a devastating time for them.”
In a tweet last night, Johnstown FC said everyone was shocked by the tragedy and said Mikey should be remembered for the “champion he was and his fighting spirit.”
It is with great sadness our own Mikey Leddy has passed away this afternoon, the tragic event that has happened in the last 48 hours has shocked us all. We would ask that everyone remembers Mikey for the champion he was and his fighting spirit. RIP MIKEY LEDDY pic.twitter.com/95wut0TzJZ
