Tribute have been paid to a teenager who died after falling at the Cliffs of Moher last weekend.
17-year-old Lochlann Murray from County Armagh reportedly fell on to the rocks just above the shoreline on Friday.
The Crossmaglen teenager’s body was recovered by members of the Rockcorry Divers and North Coast Search and Recovery (RDNCSR) team on Sunday afternoon.
The RDNCSR said weather conditions had complicated the search effort over the weekend.
“The search began around 12.30pm and the body was located at approximately 3.30pm,” they said.
“The area below could not be seen from the top of the cliffs but information was relayed via a drone.
“Poor weather conditions in recent days, along with the swell and large rocks, made the recovery very difficult.
“Falling debris from the face of the cliff was another hazard the dive team had to be aware of.”
The group said the teenager’s remains were removed to the Coast Guard station in Doolin after the dive team recovered them.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the deceased at this very sad time,” it said.
Lochlann was a former boxer at the Silverbridge Boxing Club in Newry, where his father was a coach.
The club offered its heartfelt condolences to his family.
Lochlann’s funeral is due to be held at St Brigids Church in Glassdrummond on Thursday.
