A suicide bomber has detonated an explosive device in front of the Turkish parliament, according to the country’s Interior Affairs Minister.
Ali Yerlikaya said two suspects carried out the attack, one of which died in the explosion and other shot by police.
The device detonated on Sunday morning, hours before the Turkish parliament was due to reopen after a three-month break.

Two police officers were impacted in the explosion and are being treated in hospital for non-serious injuries.
Information regarding the suspects or motive for the attack is not yet known.
