It’s exactly a week to the day since Apple unleashed their newest iPhone to the world’s media in San Francisco.

The company is calling it the iPhone 5 and says it is the thinnest, lightest smartphone ever.

It will have a larger, 4-inch screen showing 5 rows of icons with a retina display.

It will also have the ability to surf a high-speed 4G LTE wireless network and is 20% lighter and 16% slimmer than the previous model, the iPhone 4S.

It comes with a new A6 processor which the company claim runs twice as fast as the previous version.

It will have 3 microphones and a better 8-megapixel camera.

The technology giant have also produced a new version of software, iOS6 for download available from 6pm tonight as Martyn Rosney ( href="https://twitter.com/martynrosney">@martynrosney) tweeted earlier today.

Contained within this software update is Apple’s very own version of maps, dismissing the Google version that has been pre-installed on all previous iPhones and iPads.

Facebook and Apple have come together as a joint business venture and integrated the social media site throughout the phone - from Siri to your calendar and even your contacts and photos.

Passbook is a new feature that allows users to save their boarding passes, coupons and store cards.

The iOS6 software updates FaceTime, Mail, Safari, Accessibility, Camera and the way users answer their phone. The new phone function permits users to send a reminder to call the person back or sent a text message if you are unable to answer.
