An F-16 jet flyover and parachute jump kicked off the Croke Park Classic this afternoon, but things didn't go exactly to plan.
Twitter exploded with comments wondering what the loud roar over the city was. Some suggested car alarms were going off all across the Northside, as well as some temporarily frightened people:
We would not do well in a war. Two fighter jets fly over Dublin and the city's inhabitants explode from tweeting about it.

While the two unarmed jets' flyover seemed to go as planned despite catching most of the population of Dublin by surprise, there was one small mishap in the pre-match celebrations.
It seems as if a parachute jumper, who was intended to deliver the match ball, missed his stadium landing spot. Irish Rail tweeted the following:
Welcome to our unexpected visitor the #CrokeParkClassic parachutist who landed on the railway line behind Hill 16! Line clear now, no delays
