Gardaí in Newbridge have charged two men in connection with a major drugs haul in County Kildare.

Both men, aged 27 and 29, are due before a special sitting of Naas District Court at 9.30 tomorrow morning.

At around 9pm last night gardaí searched a house in School Lane, Suncroft at The Curragh where the operation was discovered.

Plants at various stages of growth worth an estimated €164,000 were seized.

Two men (aged 27 and 29) were arrested at the scene.

They are currently being held at Newbridge garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
