A handgun and a quantity of drugs have been seized aboard a train in Dublin with two men arrested.

Gardai received a report that two men were acting suspiciously on board a DART train yesterday.

They boarded at Blackrock Station and following a search gardai discovered the weapon, a small quantity of drugs and other drugs paraphernalia.

Two men - one aged in his 20s and one in his 30s - were arrested and taken to Blackrock garda station.

They are being held under Section 30 of The Offences Against the State Act.
