Police in Canada say around 350 people have been arrested as part of an international operation to break a huge child pornography network-including two arrests in Ireland.
It follows an investigation into a Canadian company that allegedly sold films showing children.
A garda spokesperson has confirmed that they received a request from police in Toronto with regards to assisting with an operation which they were running.
To date -two men were arrested here in Ireland -one in his 40's and one in his 60's. They were subsequently released and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
A garda spokesperson says as this is an ongoing operation they are unable to comment any further
