Two people have been arrested after a man was found dead in Dublin city.

Gardaí say they are investigating all the circumstances of the death of the man in his 50s, following an incident at Markievicz House.

Officers responded to reports of an incident at the flat complex at approximately 11.00am on Monday morning.

The man was brought to St James's Hospital and was later pronounced dead. A post mortem is due to take place.

A man aged in his 40s and a woman in her 30s were both arrested on Tuesday morning.

They are being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Pearse Street Garda station.
