The first two paintings from the Beit Collection at Russborough House have been sold in London for a combined total of approximately €156,000
Earlier Heritage organisation An Taisce said it was taking a High Court action to prevent the break-up of a priceless art collection that was gifted to the Irish people.
A number of Masterpieces from the Beit Collection at Russborough House in Co Wicklow are due to be auctioned off at Christies in London, to finance the upkeep of the stately home.

An Taisce has been granted a judicial review of the export licenses obtained for the paintings.
