Two people have died in separate road accidents in County Tipperary.
Gardaí said a woman in her 70s crashed into a pole on Gladstone Street in Clonmel at around 3pm yesterday.
The pole then hit a man in his 50s who was walking on the street.
He was taken to South Tipperary Hospital, where he died overnight.
The road was closed for a time while Gardaí carried out a forensic investigation but it has since reopened.
Separately a woman in her 60s has died after crash involving a car and a truck at Dovea, Bouladuff near Thurles.
Gardaí said the crash happened on the Thurles to Templemore Road at around 2:30am this morning.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was taken to University Hospital Limerick where a post mortem will take place.
The driver of the truck, a man in his 40s, was not injured.
The road remains closed while Gardaí carry out a forensic examination of the scene. Local diversions are in place.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses to either accident to contact them.
