The International and Ross Hotels have been evacuated following an explosion in Killarney in Co Kerry earlier this morning.

The explosion happened at around half six at a laundrette on Kenmare Place, and shattered windows in surrounding buildings.

Some minor injuries have been reported but its not believed at this time that anybody has been seriously hurt.

Four units of the Fire Brigade as well as the Garda Forensics Team are at the scene.
