Two men have been arrested after a double ATM was stolen from a supermarket in Antrim.
The cash machine was taken from the Tesco store in the town at around 3am on Friday morning.
A digger had been used in the robbery and was on fire when police arrived to the scene.
Police recovered the ATM a few miles away around 30 minutes later.
The men were arrested yesterday in connection with the incident on suspicion of conspiracy to steal.
A 43-year-old man was interviewed and released on bail pending further inquiries.
Another 26-year-old man remains in police custody.
Detective Chief Inspector McCubbin said: “Our investigation into this is ongoing and I continue to appeal to anyone who has any information that can assist us with our inquiries.”
Yesterday, Detective Inspector Richard Thornton reassured the local community that the PSNI was doing all it could to catch the perpetrators.
He said: "Our investigation is at an early stage and we are working to establish if this incident is linked to others of a similar nature."
He appealed to the owners of heavy plant machinery to ensure they secure and immobile their equipment.
Detective Thornton said: "If the diggers cannot be stolen, these attacks cannot take place."
