Two men have been arrested in connection two incidents on O’Connell Street, Dublin City, that left one man hospitalised.
Gardaí are investigating an assault that happened on O’Connell Street and Cathal Brugha Street last night.
Patrolling officers were made aware of two incidents in the city at 1am last night involving a number of individuals.
Two suspects, men in their 20s and 30s, were identified and arrested near the scene.
A man in his 40s was taken to the Mater Hospital with serious injuries. No other injuries have been reported.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who were in the Cathal Brugha Street area, near the Living Room Bar, between 12.40am and 1.00am.
They are also looking for witnesses who were on O’Connell Street Upper near the Funland Casino and Dublin Tourism Office, opposite the Spire, at the same time.
They are particularly interested in anyone with footage, including dashcam footage.
