Gardaí have arrested two men over the death of another man last year.

The two men were arrested on Monday morning.

It is in relation to the murder of Wayne Whelan, whose body was found inside a car last December.

The 42-year-old had been shot a number of times.

One man in his 30s is being held at Lucan Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The second male is being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Ronanstown Garda station.

A woman who was previously arrested in connection to this incident was released without charge.
