An investigation has been launched after two men died in a light plane crash in Wexford on Sunday evening.
The aircraft came down at Duncormick shortly before 6.00pm.
The two men, whose ages are not known, were confirmed dead following the accident.
The pilot has been named locally as Peter Towse from New Ross. He was accompanied by a man from Naas in Co Kildare.
Their bodies have been removed from the scene for post mortem examinations.
Both the Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU) and the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) are investigating.
Michael Sheehan is a local Fianna Fáil councillor.
"On behalf of the people of County Wexford, we express our deepest shock and sympathy with the families and to think of the families as they're hearing the dreadful news... and dealing with the consequences of the next couple of days.
"And also to thank the emergency services for their response, and their speedy response in this regard.
"It's a very sad day on behalf of the people of Wexford".
