Two men are due to appear in court tomorrow after they were arrested for firearm possession in north Dublin.
Gardaí were called on Friday night after a member of the public reported suspicious activity at the rear of a house on Clare Road just off Griffith Avenue.
It was believed a group of men were spotted wearing balaclavas.
One man was arrested when a car with false registration plates was stopped, and another was found hiding nearby.
Follow-up searches on the grounds of a local church saw detectives seize a replica firearm, a balaclava and gloves.
The two men - both aged in their 40s - were held under section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
They will come before the Criminal Courts of Justice tomorrow morning.
