Met Éireann has issued two alerts for cold and icy weather across the entire country.
A status yellow low temperature/ice warning is in place from 8.00pm on Wednesday night.
The forecaster says it will be very cold with minimum temperate widely falling to -3° or -4° Celsius.
This will be in place until 10:00am on Thursday.
While a status yellow snow/ice warning has also been issued from 11.00pm on Wednesday.
The forecaster says snow and ice will lead to "treacherous conditions", with some accumulations possible.
This alert will be in effect until 11:00am on Thursday.

On Wednesday evening, outbreaks of rain and sleet will begin to move into parts of the north and west.
For Wednesday night, a widespread frost will set in with icy stretches and some freezing fog.
A band of rain, sleet and snow will slowly sink down from the northwest with some snow accumulations.
For Thursday, there will be some snow accumulations to begin the day, as a band of rain, sleet and snow clears away southwards.
There will be brighter conditions with sunny spells to extend to all areas during the afternoon.
