Two police officers in Northern Ireland have been arrested as part of an internal fraud investigation.
The investigation related to payments made available to PSNI members following a major data breach.
The £500 payments were offered to all officers and staff to help them take extra personal security measures after their data was leaked.
Details of almost 10,000 officers and staff were accidentally released in August 2023 as part of a botched PSNI response to a freedom of information query.
The Belfast Telegraph reported there were rumours that some employees brought security items purchased with the £500 payments back to stores for refunds.
