Two police officers have been injured after their vehicle was rammed in Newry, County Down.

They were alerted to a suspected stolen vehicle parked in the forecourt of a garage in the Belfast Road area at about 11.20pm last night.

The PSNI has said that when officers attempted to speak to the occupants, the driver accelerated and collided with a police vehicle, causing extensive damage and injuring two officers inside.
