Two employees from the Dublin passport office have been arrested as part of an on-going fraud investigation.
A man and a woman - both in their 30's - were detained after internal checks revealed irregularities in the processing of three passports.
The woman has since been released and a file will be prepared for the DPP - the man is still being held at Pearse Street Garda Station.

The arrests followed an investigation which was launched by the Passport Service last Autumn after the discovery of the irregularities.
