Two people have been arrested by Gardaí investigating rental scams in South Dublin.

The arrests were made after Gardaí searched two homes in Dublin 13 this morning.

Cash, mobile phones and documents were seized during the searches.

A 30-year-old man and 24-year-old woman were arrested and taken to Blackrock Garda Station.

Newstalk has learned that there are a number of alleged victims involved in the Garda investigation.

It comes just weeks after Gardaí warned students to be wary of rental scams, with accommodation fraud up 30% this year compared to 2019.
