Two people have been arrested by Gardaí investigating the murder of Josephine ‘Joan’ Ray in County Tipperary.
The man and woman, both in their 50s, were arrested earlier today and are currently being questioned at garda stations in the south of the country.
The 89-year-old was found dead in her home at St Joseph's Park, Nenagh on Sunday afternoon.
Gardaí launched a murder investigation on Tuesday – with officers satisfied there were no signs of a break-in at her home.
The great grandmother was laid to rest in St Mary of the Rosary Church in Nenagh today.
As they continue their investigation, Gardaí have asked anyone who was in the St Joseph’s Park area of Nenagh between 8pm on Saturday August 3rd and midday on Sunday August 4th to contact them.
