A man and a woman have appeared in court this evening charged in connection with the seizure of a kilo of cocaine in Cork.

56 year old Padraig Gavin from Rockville Crescent, Blackrock, Co Dublin and 22 year old Jennifer Heaphy of Kerryhall Road, Fairhill, Cork were both charged with possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine for sale or supply.

The pair were arrested on Saturday evening after gardai seized 70-thousand euro worth of the drug at Sallybrook, Glanmire, Co Cork.

Both are due back in Cork District Court on Tuesday.
