Two people have been sentenced to life in prison for murdering a 27-year-old father of one in Bandon in Cork.
Catherine O'Connor and Ciprian Grozavu of Bridge House in Bandon were convicted after separate trials of the murder of Jonathan Duke in November 2011.
They were both sentenced today at the Central Criminal Court in Cork.
The body of Jonathan Duke was found with more than 100 injuries after he was battered and stabbed before being dumped in the Bandon River.
Gardai said it was difficult to establish a motive but drink played a part.
Jonathan's mother Michelle told Cork's Red FM the family are relieved.
