Gardaí are investigating a single vehicle crash at Ballycummin Road in Limerick.

It happened at 4.30am on Tuesday morning when a car hit a tree.

The male driver (27) and the female passenger (24) were taken to Limerick University Hospital.

Their condition is described as stable.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
