Two people have been injured in a shooting in Newcastle West in Co Limerick.

It happened outside a house in the Castleview Estate just after 3pm this afternoon.

A man and woman in their 30s were injured.

The man was airlifted to Cork University Hospital, and the woman was taken to hospital in Limerick.

The scene has been sealed off as gardaí investigate.
