In the North, two petrol bombs were thrown at police last night during ongoing protests over the flying of the union flag at Belfast City Hall.

The PSNI dealt with more than 50 protests in the space of an hour last night.

Officers encountered some minor incidents on the Lower Newtownards Road in Belfast where petrol bombs were thrown at them, but there were no injuries.
