Two people have been rescued from the River Liffey in Dublin after jumping in to the water to save a drowning dog.
Dublin Fire Brigade said swift water rescue swimmers pulled all three from the water outside the Four Courts at around 1:45pm this afternoon.
Officers from the Phibsborough and Tara St stations were involved in the rescue.
The fire brigade rescue boat brought all three to shore.

Emergency Services are now trying to contact the dog’s owner.
Witnesses at the scene said the two people saw the dog in trouble and jumped in to help. They stayed in the water with him until the fire brigade arrived.
