Gardaí have arrested two teenagers in connection with Friday's fatal shooting in Athy, Co Kildare.

It brings to three the number of people being questioned over the death of 22-year-old Jason Doogue.

One male in his early teens was arrested yesterday afternoon, while a second youth in his late teens was arrested later in the evening.

They are being held at Leixlip and Naas Garda stations under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.

A man who was arrested on Friday evening remains in custody at Kildare Garda station.

Jason Doogue was gunned down in the Greenhills area of Athy in broad daylight at around 5 o'clock on Friday evening.

He was rushed to Naas General Hospital with gunshot wounds following the incident. He was later pronounced dead.
