Two Dublin teenagers have been charged with the murder of a German student in an apartment complex in the capital in December 2012.
Thomas Heinrich - who was from Munich - was stabbed to death outside the apartment on St Anthony's Road in Rialto.
His friend was also attacked and spent two days in intensive care after being knifed eight times.
Two teenagers - aged 16 and 19 - were arrested this morning and brought before the Children's Court where they have been charged with murder.
They were both also charged with the serious assault on Mr. Heinrich’s friend.
The younger of the two, who can't be named for legal reasons, will appear before the Children’s Court again on Tuesday.
His legal team have indicated their intention to apply for bail that day as he is due to sit his Leaving Cert the following day.
While his co-accused, Wesley Kelly with an address on St. Anthony’s Road, has been remanded in custody to appear in court again on Wednesday.
