Two teenagers have been arrested after an aggravated burglary at a house in Listowel, Co Kerry.
Gardaí said two males entered a house in the Dromin area just after midnight on Sunday, allegedly armed with hammers.
Two men who were in the house, aged in their 20s and 30s, were assaulted.
They received serious but non-life threatening injuries and received medical treatment at the scene.
Criminal damage was also caused to the house and to a car parked outside.
On Wednesday, Gardaí arrested two teenagers in the Listowel area.
Officers were assisted by the Armed Support Unit.
The two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, are currently being held at Listowel and Ballybunion Garda stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Gardaí have said investigations are continuing.
