Two women have died in separate incidents in the sea off the North Dublin coast in less than 24 hours.
Yesterday, a woman in her 60s died after she was found unresponsive in the water at Portmarnock Strand by the Irish Coast Guard.
In the second incident, a woman was found dead in the water in the early hours of this morning at Clontarf.
Gardaí were called at around 7am and the woman’s body has since been removed from the scene.
Gardaí said their enquiries are ongoing and there is no further information available at this time.
In yesterday’s tragedy, a woman in her 60s was pulled from the water at around 3pm.
She was taken to Beaumont Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The Coroner has since been informed and a postmortem examination is due to take place.
It is understood that Gardaí do not suspect foul play.
