The evening rush has begun at polling stations across the UK - as voting in the tightest general election in decades continues.

Prime Minister David Cameron and his main rival, Labour’s Ed Miliband have cast their vote - and are urging their supporters to get behind them in their bids for Downing Street.

Meanwhile, UKIP leader Nigel Farage is fighting for his political life in Kent - after pledging to stand aside if he fails to win a seat.
