Ukraine's interim Prime Minister says he considers his country to be at war. The Prime Minister’s words come as thousands of pro-Russian militants are said to have stormed a police headquarters in the southern city of Odessa.
Over 40 people died there in violence on Friday and earlier today the Ukrainian premier, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, claimed it was Russian forces who had engineered the incident in Odessa, with the aim of heightening tensions in the now extremely volatile country.
Yatsenyuk travelled to Odessa - where he spoke of his fears that Ukraine is now a country in civil war:
“It seems to me that the entire world is facing a new type of war. With the military with no insignia on their uniforms, with the political and diplomatic pressure on Ukraine and with the real threat to global security,” Yatsenyuk said.
