Russian special forces have stormed a Ukrainian military base in Crimea, smashing through the gate, shooting at least one Ukrainian soldier.
It comes after a deadline to hand over the base to Russia expired at 12.30 this afternoon.
The Ukrainian commander at the Belbek airforce base has now been taken away by Russians for questioning.

Earlier today a large group – reported to be several hundred – of unarmed protestors stormed a Urkainian naval base at Novofedorivka in western Crimea.
