An undertaker is being investigated on suspicion of stealing cash from the homes of dead people.
The Dublin funeral home worker was arrested and questioned following a sting operation.
The man is reportedly involved in preparing bodies before they're escorted from their homes to the mortuary.
The Irish Independent reports that Gardaí became suspicious after they attended the scene of a sudden death in south Dublin last month became suspicious when they noticed money was missing from the room the deceased was in.
After a similar incident a number of weeks later, Gardaí set up a sting operation by placing marked notes in a room where a body was lying to see if they would be taken.
In a statement, Gardaí said they are investigating two incidents of alleged theft.
A man has been arrested and questioned but has since been released without charge.
Gardaí said the investigation is continuing and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
