Thousands of pilgrims will take part in the annual Reek Sunday in county Mayo today.

Large numbers have travelled to Murrisk to climb Croagh Patrick - to take part in one of the country’s most high-profile traditions.

Pilgrims started gathering at the main ridge from just before 6.30 a.m. this morning.

Meanwhile, motorists travelling to and from county Mayo this weekend are being urged to drive with care.
