In the US, a man from Ohio has been charged with planning a terror attack in Washington DC.

The FBI arrested an alleged Islamic State supporter over a suspected plot to target the United States Capitol Building.

Christopher Cornell researched the construction of pipe bombs, purchased a firearm and 600 rounds of ammunition, according to court documents.

Cornell had also made travel arrangements to carry out the attack.

Court documents also revealed that Cornell had expressed interest in an alliance with Islamic State militants.
