The US government is offering a reward of up to US$1m for information leading to the identification or location of Hamza bin Laden.
The son of the slain al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden is also a "key leader" in the organisation, the US State Department has said.
"Since at least August 2015, he has released audio and video messages on the internet calling on his followers to launch attacks against the United States and its Western allies", a statement said.
"He has threatened attacks against the United States in revenge for the May 2011 killing of his father by US service members."
On January 5th 2017, the US designated Hamza bin Laden as a 'Specially Designated Global Terrorist'.

As a result, all of Hamza bin Laden's assets based in the United States or in the possession or control of US persons were frozen.
Al-Qaeda and its supporters conducted three bombings targeting US troops in Aden, Yemen in December 1992, and claimed responsibility for shooting down US helicopters and killing soldiers in Somalia in 1993.
It also carried out the August 1998 bombings of the US embassies in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, killing up to 300 people and injuring more than 5,000.
While in October 2000, al-Qaeda conducted a suicide attack on the USS Cole in the port of Aden, killing 17 Navy sailors and injuring 39 others.
On September 11th 2001, 19 al-Qaeda members hijacked and crashed four commercial jets into the World Trade Centre in New York City, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania.
Nearly 3,000 civilians, police and first responders were killed - including foreign nationals from at least 77 countries.

Osama bin Laden was killed in a US military raid in Pakistan in May 2011.
