A candidate standing for election to the United States Congress has claimed his opponent is dead, and the man (or possibly robot) who beat him in this week’s congressional Republican primary, Frank Lucas, is in fact a body double.

Republican Timothy Ray Murray says he will challenge the result of this week’s Republican congressional primary in Oklahoma, in which Murray won 5.2% of the vote, while Lucas took the nomination with 82.8% of the vote.

Murray believes Lucas was killed by the “World Court” along with several other members of Congress, was killed in Ukraine in early 2011, by way of a public execution.

"It is widely known Rep. Frank D. Lucas is no longer alive and has been displayed by a look alike. Rep. Lucas’ look alike was depicted as sentenced on a white stage in southern Ukraine on or about Jan. 11, 2011," Murray said in a statement.

In another posting on his website Murray explains that the idea of a doppelganger or a man-made replacement is quite possible, but that such a move makes the replica ineligible to run for Congress.

“We know that it is possible to use look alike artificial or man-made replacements, however Rep. Lucas was not eligible to serve as a Congressional Member after that time,” the post reads.

Presumably in order to show he is not a hypocrite, Murray also makes a point of stating that he is “not a robot look alike” (sic). And just to double down on that, his website also introduces Murray with the line: “I, Timothy Ray Murray, am a human...I will never use a look alike...as both the other Republican Challengers have.”
