Kamala Harris has chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate for the US Presidential election.
The Democratic presidential candidate confirmed she had chosen the 60-year-old as her vice president in a post on X/Twitter today.
I am proud to announce that I've asked @Tim_Walz to be my running mate.
As a governor, a coach, a teacher, and a veteran, he's delivered for working families like his.
It's great to have him on the team.

Mr Walz is currently in his second term as governor and previously served 12 years in Congress.
The 60-year-old politician is a former soldier in the US Army and has experience as an educator and football coach.
In the November election, the pair will compete against the Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump, and his running mate JD Vance.
Other names previously believed to be in contention as the Democrats' VP pick include Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and former presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg.
