Workers earning under €70,000 will have their Universal Social Charge (USC) cut in the next budget.

That has been guaranteed by the Taoiseach Enda Kenny in the Dáil today.

The commitment came as the Dáil continues to debate the Spring Statement announced yesterday.

Mr Kenny says the government is fully committed to abolishing USC over time, with cuts that will continue this October.
