As part of Newstalk’s award winning team, we are looking for talent to add to our freelance panel. You will be responsible for producing or researching programmes to a high professional standard, with quality content that is appropriate to the editorial values of the station.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Title:
Freelance Producers & Researchers
Reporting to:
Senior Editorial Team
Purpose:
To produce and research programmes to a high professional standard, with quality content that is appropriate to the editorial values of the programme and the station.
Key Tasks:
Generating ideas
Overseeing all aspects of each day’s running order
Guest and contributor selection
Producing in studio
Liaising with the newsroom for breaking news
Promoting the programme
Operating within the programme budget
Actively participating in production meetings and other editorial initiatives
Technical aptitude
An ability to deal with breaking news
To drive presence on all our digital platforms
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Excellent radio production skills
Be proficient in recording and editing and the workings of digital and social media
An ability to generate and to evaluate quality programme content
Excellent contacts and up to date knowledge of current affairs
Excellent working knowledge of libel and defamation laws
Be a self starter and highly motivated
Desirable:
Qualification in radio
At least 2 years experience working in radio
