The Taoiseach has said tweets posted by one of Sinn Féin’s new TDs before she was elected should “trouble us all.”
Réada Cronin posted that Israel had “taken Nazism to a new level” and suggested a picture of monkeys working on computers reminded her of the Israeli embassy.
The Kildare North TD also replied to a post which suggested "loads of judges are paedophiles" by saying "wouldn't surprise me."
In another Tweet, she claimed the fluoridation of the public water supply has “made us docile.”
This morning, Leo Varadkar said the “anti-Semitic & anti-science remarks” made by a newly-elected representative “should trouble us all.”
The anti-Semitic & anti-science remarks of one of Sinn Fein’s new TDs should trouble us all. This is not the kind of change we need #themaskslipsagain #notanormalparty

Deputy Cronin’s account has since been locked.
She has since “unreservedly and wholeheartedly” apologised and said the tweets were “glib” and “off-the-cuff.”
Everyone should be disturbed by newly elected Sinn Fein TD Réada Cronin’s history of comments that consist of paranoid, hate-driven conspiracy theories. We hope that Sinn Fein will distance itself from her comments. @sinnfeinireland https://t.co/lhEEUK9XSI
