80 per cent of premature heart disease and stroke is preventable.

That's the message from the Irish Heart Foundation ahead of their Happy Heart Appeal, which takes place over the next three days.

Volunteers will be selling badges on streets nationwide, to raise funds for research.

To mark the event, the Irish Heart Foundation has released a list of 10 facts you probably don't know about heart disease and stroke.
