A number of vehicles have been seized in counties across Leinster following a garda operation over the weekend.
15 checkpoints were conducted by gardaí in districts across counties Kildare, Meath, Laois, Offaly, Westmeath and Wicklow as part of Operation Thor.
38 patrols were also carried out as part of the ‘blitz’ by gardaí on Saturday.
Several searches were carried out and six vehicles were seized under Section 41 of the Road Traffic Act.
In addition, a disqualified driver was caught driving in Kilcoole, Co Wicklow.
A two-day operation was also carried out in Bray on Friday and Saturday.
Arrests were made for offences including burglaries, thefts and illegal drug use and supply.
Checkpoints and patrols were also conducted, as was community engagement and the distribution of crime preventive advise.
Operation Thor aims to improve garda visibility through patrolling and conducting checkpoints in the run up to Christmas.
According to gardaí, these actions have prevented burglaries, disrupted the movement of travelling criminals by seizing vehicles and increased public confidence with the presence of garda vehicles patrolling the areas.
